Windows Mobile Powered Smartphone GSM/VoWLAN Dual Mode Handset Launches
at 3GSM World Congress, February 12-15, 2007 in Barcelona in Booth 2.1A70

Richardson, Texas and Barcelona, Spain, February 12, 2007.  For Immediate Release.  Paragon Wireless (www.parawireless.com), the leading dual mode (Cellular/VoWLAN) technology provider to global wireless OEMs/ODMs, other cellular phone design houses, Internet Service Providers, IP-PBX vendors, broadband equipment providers and operators, announced the launch of their second generation SIP-based Windows Mobile dual mode handset at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The hipi-2300 is Paragon Wireless’ newest addition to their Microsoft Windows Mobile® dual mode handset technology.  Utilizing Paragon’s proven VoWLAN/GSM dual-mode technology, the hipi-2300 includes the Windows Mobile 5.0® operating system to further expand the usability and functionality of this extremely versatile smartphone. With its built-in 1.3M pixel camera, the MP3/MP4 player and the camcorder/recorder, users can access the Internet, listen to music and take/review pictures all from one easily carried handset that also serves as their mobile phone. The 1100mAh Li-ion battery offers users up to 4 hours of WiFi talk time and up to 6 hours of GSM talk time, or up to 100 hours of standby time, while having both radios on simultaneously.

According to Ilkka Pouttu, vice president of sales and marketing for Paragon Wireless, “The hipi-2300 establishes precedence for the mobile workforce—a single smartphone for all your mobile device needs.  Our commitment to technology, innovation, and performance has enabled our dual-mode family of products to demonstrate a measurable difference when it comes to user productivity. We have the honor of working closely with Microsoft to continue developing the world’s best dual mode smartphones.”

“Paragon Wireless shares Microsoft's ongoing focus to elevate the mobile experience with easy-to-use, flexible devices that allow people to stay connected and productive on-the-go," said Chris Hill, group product manager at Microsoft Corp.

The hipi-2300 expands the landscape of handset technology as we know it today, while focusing on high performance and functionality.  Features include: Windows Mobile 5.0, SIP based VoIP, Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC), dynamic jitter buffers, enhanced talk time, enhanced standby time, multiple internet-based applications, integrated Windows Media Player, MP3 capabilities, streaming video, MP4 integration, video recording/playback, and more.
